  • University of IT & Management in Rzeszow: 11%
  • Technical University of Lodz in Bielsko-Biala: 12%
  • Technical University of Lodz: 0%
  • University of Management & Administration in Zamosc: 8%

Recruitment & Retention Strategies

  • Educating employers on women’s demonstrated skills in networking.
  • Developing recruitment activities and promotional materials for the Academy Program that make female students aware of the job opportunities in networking.
  • Availability of financial sources may encourage female enrollment.
  • Program promoted through posters and Internet
  • The presence of several female instructors in the Computer Science department may also encourage women to enroll in Cisco program.

Recommendations

  • Emphasize job opportunities available through the Cisco Networking Academy Program.
  • Increase the number of female teachers in the Networking Academy program.
  • Include images of females on promotional materials.
  • Offer the Networking Academy program in non-IT departments, such as Marketing, where there are often a higher percentage of females.
  • Alleviate cost burden.
  • Possibly hold weekend Academy courses.
